Lakshya has also catalyzed the formation of ‘Nokhu Aikhyu’ (A different life), a state level community based organization of HIV+ MSM which stands as the first of its kind in the state of Gujarat in the year of 2007. This support group is registered as a charitable society and has its presence in five cities of Gujarat State. The organization will further work on rights based and health based issues of HIV positive MSM, strengthening networks and creating pressure groups to influence policies related to HIV positive individuals.

Lakshya was the first organization to introduce and launch the concept of water based lubricants in the MSM Targeted Interventions through the aid of The Humsafar Trust (Mumbai) and community counselors in the state of Gujarat. Lakshya has actively contributed in the development of strategic plan for scaling up interventions for MSM and TG population – India Network For Sexual Minorities (INFOSEM). This plan was later included in the operational guidelines of Targeted Interventions under National AIDS Control Program-Phase III and the Targeted Intervention projects for HIV / AIDS have been awarded by Gujarat State AIDS Control Society.

Overall, Lakshya Trust has been an epitome of excellence in the field of capacity building and implementation of sexual health programme for the community, by the community in the state. To sum up, Lakshya Trust is the organization that has worked and shall continue working for the betterment of the community members.
